Pawan Kalyan, TDP Chief Naidu Meet to Discuss Alliance with BJP
Amaravati (AP): Jana Sena Party leader Pawan Kalyan and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N. Chandrababu Naidu held discussions at Naidu’s residence regarding a potential alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the upcoming Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
The leaders are expected to visit Delhi for further talks with the BJP leadership. While the TDP and Jana Sena had previously announced an open door for BJP to join their alliance, the decision rests with the central leadership of the BJP, as emphasized by State BJP chief D. Purandeswari.
The meeting also addressed the second list of candidates for the respective parties. The TDP and Jana Sena had announced their seat-sharing agreement, with the TDP allocating 24 Assembly and three Lok Sabha seats to Jana Sena.
The alliance seeks to consolidate anti-YSR Congress votes. Despite a previous alliance breakup in 2018, the TDP expressed interest in reviving ties with the BJP after the 2019 electoral setback.
